Here is the now well known Roadkill Cafe and O.K. Saloon found off of the old Route 66 in Seligman, AZ. Owned by the same folks that own the Historic Route 66 Motel next door, the Roadkill Cafe features some good food on its menu.

According to their website, the Roadkill Cafe sprung up as an extension to the O.K. Saloon and was first established as a patio. 09-21

Parker House Restaurant(Gone)
Williams, AZ

A bit of a cool old restaurant that screamed of decades past in its look and the colors of its sign, the Parker House Restaurant stood tall along the western side of Route 66 in Williams, AZ.

Well like most good things, the Parker House Restaurant is now just a memory. Another restaurant called Jessica's Family Restaurant now sits in its place. 09-21

Old Smoky's Restaurant (Demolished)
Williams, AZ

Here are a couple of shots of Old Smoky's Restaurant. Old Smoky's was found right off of old Route 66 in the railroad town of Williams, AZ, Gateway to the Grand Canyon. This restaurant opened up in 1946 and was once the the site of the Grand Canyon Cafe which is still in town.

Well all good things come to an end it seems like. Old Smoky's Restaurant was torn down for good in July 2017 after the owners left and opened up at a nearby mall instead, claiming the building had become run down. So long Old Smoky's and your famous mountain man mascot and good solid breakfasts. The source of this info can be found at the Williams-Grand Canyon News. More info can also be found at Route 66 News. 09-21

Mr. Maestas Family Restaurant
Holbrook, CA

Check out this triangle sign that points the way into Mr. Maestas Family Restaurant, home of American and Mexican food. The look of this Holbrook, Arizona restaurant looks homey with its wood paneling and comfort colors.

Well the yellow triangle sign is now gone and the Budget Inn Motel is kaput becoming part of the Knights Inn chain. At least Mr. Maestas Family Restaurant is still chugging along service up its hot food to hungry locals and travelers alike at 502 Navajo Boulevard or old Route 66 . 09-21

Granny's Closet (Closed)
218 S. Milton Road, Flagstaff AZ

Check out the lumberjack that stands outside of Granny's Closet Bar & Restaurant. Located along busy Route 66 in the Arizona town of Flagstaff, the lumberjack at Granny's Closet has been greeting customers since 1974. At least that's when the restaurant opened, not 100% when this 10 foot tall wooden lumberjack was installed at the front.

Granny's Closet was owned by Frank and Sally Zanzucchi when the doors opened and the name after Ermalinda, Frank's mother and grandmother to 11 children. Family members typically worked the busy restaurant over the years. Unfortunately, time does not stand still and shut its doors in late 2016. According to this Flagstaff Business News article, "competition and lack of commitment are the reasons why Granny's couldn't make it". Alas, Flagstaff has lost another one of its roadside and Route 66 gems. 09-21
