Here's the Smoke House in Burbank, with its neon sign glowing at night. This restaurant is possibly threatened by a condo development.
Leon's Steak House has been serving prime rib and cocktails since 1958. Scheduled to close when the lease expires July 31, 2003 to be replaced by a Walgreens. [ed. note: yes, you heard that right. A Walgreens...!] Update : Leon's was indeed demolished as scheduled.
Here's the Best Place Cafe of Long Beach, CA. This corner cafe just lights up the stucco at night.
The Theme Building/Encounter Restaurant at LAX is quite a sight to see, especially at night. This fine shot of the building shows this treasure all lit up in color.

The palm tree points the way to the Bambu Hut in Ontario, CA. This neon palm tree has been around for decades. Unfortunately, time has taken its toll and the Bambu Hut is now history.
Off the old 101 in Oceanside, CA is this sign for the Baskin Robbins ice cream. The lettering for the ice cream still stands out at night, though the sign was recently modified. Check out the colors on the letters.
Check out the marquee for the famous Rainbow Bar in Hollywood, CA. This continues to be a hotspot with many a celebrity stopping by here.
The Shrimp Boat was located on the east side of Rosemead (Hwy 19) near Duarte road. The sign was removed and the building demolished quite some time ago.
