A section on liquor store signage isn't complete without a look at the fantastic Circus Liquor sign. This smiling neon clown is two-faced (and two sided). If you're here to grab some liquor, check out this sign before you guzzle or else you'll really think you're seeing something.
This liquor store in LA shows its formerly neon arrow. Once upon a time, a sign like this was on just about every neighborhood liquor store.
This liquor store sign features a rather straight-forward looking arrow and liquor store sign. The Country Deli marquee is still in good shape.
This beautiful neon sign the Jetstream Liquor was (and more or less still is) located south of the former Lockheed Air Terminal. The sign depicts the very graceful Lockheed Constellation 4 engined triple tailed transport of WWII and airliner of the 1950's. Unfortunately, this sign has been bastardized, and the "Connie" altered to look like (more or less, mostly less) the single tailed Douglas DC-3. For airplane and just "plane" people, this is a classic sign that will be missed as the WWII Burbank terminal area gives way to development.
Although this liquor store sign has seen obviously better days, it's a good example of a typical marquee from its era.
Liquor stores with swooping arrows are a favorite of Roadside Peek. This one has an arrow that can seen for blocks.
The M&I Liquor store sign is another good looking classic style liquor store sign.
(Below) The Lin-Brook Inn is a an old watering hole in Anaheim with a marquee out front that looks to be just as old. Stop by while on the way back from Disneyland. Unfortunately, you can't anymore, since the Lin-Brook Inn ain't no more.
