Route 66The Ariston Cafe dates back to 1924, when it was first opened in Carlinville. After moving to Litchfield in 1929, the Ariston has been at its location along the Mother Road since 1935. Passing through the 66 in Illinois, is a must stop for a look see and visit. More information can be found at the website for the Ariston Cafe. 11-07

 

 

 

Red Cedar Inn

Route 66The Red Cedar Inn is another Route 66 legend in MO. Located in Pacific, MO, the Red Cedar Inn was founded in 1934 and was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The Red Cedar Inn was closed in March 2005 and was being considered for purchase by the city of Pacific. 11-07

The Acme Tavern

Here is a shot of the Acme Tavern sign. Not sure of its status, but I can imagine Wile E Coyote frequenting this place since all of his Roadrunner traps were from Acme. This appears to be on old Route US 30A. 12-07
