As you travel up or down Route 99 near Stockton, you will run smack dab into the Cozy Motel.
Still takes the BankAmericard and is located off old Highway 40.
Check out the Knotty Pine Motel in Stockton, CA. This sign is a pretty good size and can be seen from blocks away. Well, at least 1/2 a block away. Check out a neon shot of the marquee.
Here's a rather nice looking sign for the Pacific Motel. For a look see at the neon on this sign, click here.
The St. Francis Motel marquee is none the worse for wear. The red color really stands out along the roadside horizon.
A vintage roadside motel, the Stanford Arms Motel stands guard in Palo Alto.
Take a look at the Fireside motel marquee, located in Santa Cruz. The colors of the letter tiles as well as the bottom of the sign scream mid-century.
Here's a nice daylight shot of the neon Western Motel in Santa Clara. For a neon look see at this treasure, click here.
The Glass Slipper Inn looks to be a Palo Alto landmark. Not sure how long this place has been around, however. (Below) The White Cottage Motel in Vallejo, CA still features an old sign with broken neon. Once probably quite a motor cottage for guests, this motel appears to be a shell of its former self.
