Here's a gem of a neon sign at the Blues City Cafe along Beale Street. The marquee features three neon forks that were used as a beacon to attract potential customers coming out of the Memphis Orpheum Theater one block up. The three forks chase each other back and forth.

The Blues City Cafe restaurant and sign were originally designed by Chuck as "Doe's Eat Place", which was a franchise of a small, somewhat regionally famous, (dinner only) steakhouse in Mississippi.  Due to certain creative branding issues, the franchise owner decided to make a change to a new name and Mitchell Creative came up with the Blues City Cafe name and revised his original design for the sign.  As the movie The Firm was about to film on location in Memphis, the name and signage was changed within 48 hours.  This sign, as well as that of B.B. King's can be seen in the movie. 03-06
