UPDATE 08/17 : The Golden West Motel and the Heart o'Town motels in downtown Reno were demolished in September 2016 after being closed and vacant for several years. Virginia Avenue won't be the same. 08/17
UPDATE 10/20 : Here's another photo of the Heart O'Town Motel from 2011. The motel is still well missed from Virginia St. in downtown Reno. 10/20

Here is the El Dorado Motel in Reno, NV. The El Dorado is an old time survivor in Reno on the old highway to Carson City and Virginia City. Based on the surrounding development in the area, this roadside veteran won't be around much longer. 03-08

Savoy Motor Lodge (Demolished)

The city of Reno continues to modernize and mow down the cute little Route 66 type motels. All that is left of the Savoy Motor Lodge is this sign. Not sure why they didn't take it down, perhaps some collector wanted it. Many thanks to Dan MacPherson for photo and update. 12-08

Here's a nice shot of the Donner Inn in Reno, NV. The Donner Inn marquee is one of the standout 50's or 60's motel signs that are located along busy 4th Street. 09-10
Ho Hum Motel

Here's the venerable sign for the Ho Hum Motel, located along busy South Virginia Street near downtown Reno. Even with all the redevelopment going on in the city, the Ho Hum Motel and its sign still welcome travelers down the main drag. 12-10
