Venus Diner PA Photo by Steve Felder Off the Pennsylvania turnpike is a true gem of a diner. The Venus Diner was established in 1959 and is impeccably maintained. So next time you're traveling on the turnpike, take a detour off on Exit 4 and save your appetite for some true country cooking. UPDATE 07/07 : The Venus Diner is closed. Tried to make a visit on June 6, 2007. What a disappointment. Many thanks to Mike Engle. 01-07 UPDATE 04/08 : The Prospect Mountain Diner was destroyed by fire in May of 2007 and has indeed been demolished. The Stardust is a great stop after seeing a play on Broadway, featuring singing waiters/waitresses serving heaps of food.
